Drive North on US 220 towards Fincastle
You will see a “Welcome to Fincastle” sign in the median, a BP gas
station on the right, and then a Lawn and Garden Center on your left. Prepare to turn left
At 8.5 miles (right before Leonardo’s Pizza Restaurant) turn left onto Main Street (T630)
At 8.8 miles, turn Right onto Grove Hill Road (606)
The top of the mountain and the Botetourt/Craig county line is at 15.3 miles.
The Mount Hebron Church is on your right at 17.7 miles
At 17.9 miles, turn right onto Murray’s Cabin Road – Cavalry Retreat
Road ( look for the cowboy entrance overhead the driveway)
Follow gravel driveway and the Cabin and Creek are on your right.
Directions from the North and East
Starting Point : Interstate 64 and Exit 27 towards 220 South
Take Interstate exit 27 to 220 South towards Iron Gate
A roughly 30 minute ride will take you to the town of Fincastle
In Fincastle turn right at Leonardo’s Pizza Restaurant at Main Street (T630)
Turn Right onto Grove Hill Road (606) and proceed roughly 10 minutes over the mountain
The Mount Hebron Church is on your right shortly after you reach the bottom of the mountain
Turn right onto Murray’s Cabin Road – Cavalry Retreat Road ( look for the cowboy entrance overhead the driveway). If you see Camp Easter Seal on your left, you just passed Murray Cabin
Follow gravel driveway and the Cabin and Creek are on your right.
Directions from the West
Starting Point : VA 460 and VA 42
Turn onto VA 42 East at Newport and go 29.4 miles
Turn left onto VA 311 for just one tenth of a mile
Turn right onto Market Street and go 6.2 miles
Market Street becomes VA 615
Turn right onto VA 615
Go approximately 2 miles until you see Camp Easter Seal on your right.
The cabin is your next drive to the left with a Cowboy entrance overhead. If you pass Mount Hebron Church, you have just passed the Murray Cabin entrance at Murray Cabin Road-Cavalry Retreat Road
Follow gravel driveway and the Cabin and Creek are on your right.
